Our Book & Movie Recommendations!
|
Born Free: A Lioness of Two Worlds by Joy Adamson
Could not put this book down. The movie is just as amazing.
You should be able to find both at your local library.
Eragon & Eldest by Christopher Paolini (a former homeschooler!)
I have read these books at least a dozen times. Eragon has a movie
out. I liked it too.
The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis
A book you can read numerous times and get more and more out of it
each time.
Our opinion is the books are much better than the movies that are out.
Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens
I really liked this book, I found it fascinating.
Bev says: There are many plays and movies out there to choose
from HOWEVER, Nicholas and I went to see August Rush and mid
way through it Nicholas made the comparison that it was a modern
day Oliver Twist and I totally agree! August Rush is one of the best
movies made in a very long time. Don't let it pass you by.
A Journey To The Center Of The Earth by Jules Verne
This was a good book. There's a movie on tv every now and then
that's an okay one to watch. The book is much better. We're going to
wait for the new movie to come out on DVD before we see it.
20,000 Leagues Under The Sea by Jules Verne
Wonderful book and movie!
Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson
Great book! There's an animated movie out there that's a spin off
from the book except it takes place in space.
Swiss Family Robinson by Johann Wyss
Enjoyed the book a lot but LOVED the movie made in 1960
most of all!
Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe
Really liked the book and the old movie is okay.
The Yearling by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings
In Nicholas' opinion the movie was much more
interesting than the book.
Nicholas, age 11, and I are avid readers! We also LOVE watching movies. However, we have a rule in our house, Read The Book First.
Nicholas has read all the books listed below and wanted to share his opinion.

The Pagemaster by David Kirschner and Ernie Contreras
The book was amazing and believe it or not the movie even better!
